This ground breaking project comes after over 20 years collaboration between the families behind Sutherland Gastronomy and Westaway Sausages.
The new Company is called The Meat Lab and is a Joint Venture between Kerry Logistics and Sutherland. The Meat Lab is the first semi-automatic raw meat processing centre in Hong Kong. Initial capacity is 1,500 tonnes per month with 300 delivery vehicles.
The centre handles Pork, Beef, Lamb and Chicken and is fully equipped to pack for both retail and foodservice. Initial capacity is largely already committed to existing customers in Hong Kong and Macau but there are plans to establish a wider customer base throughout East Asia.
Westaway Sausages existing lines supplied into Hong Kong Retailers will be relaunched in new packaging as of November. New lines exclusive to Hong Kong are due before the end of 2018 these will include Pork Meat Balls and Pork Meat Patties
