Christmas Tree Sausage Plait


  • 500g block of puff pastry
  • 2 x 400g chubs of Honey Roast Sausage Meat
  • 100g of onion chutney
  • 150g of stilton cheese
  • 2 x eggs for glazing

Start by putting your 2 x chubs of sausage meat in a large mixing bowl & mix together with the onion chutney.

Roll out your pastry into a large rectangular sheet about .5cm think. once rolled, place your sheet onto a large sheet of baking paper. this will make it easier to transfer the finished plait onto your baking tray.

next, place your sausage meat mixture onto the pastry & form into a Christmas tree shape.

Crumble the stilton & push it into the sausage meat.

Using a sharp knife, cut long strips at either side of the sausage meat & start crossing them over to make the plait effect.

Once you’ve got to the end of the plait, neatly wrap & cut the pastry around the ‘trunk’ of the tree.

Using the baking paper, lift your plait onto a large baking tray.

Whisk up your 2 eggs and glaze the plait before putting in a 180°C oven for 30 minutes.

Enjoy warm or cold.

Can be made ahead & frozen before cooking.
